Demand-Side Management (DSM)
Program Delivery
Aladaco partners with utilities, system operators, and government agencies to deliver large-scale energy efficiency, electrification, and carbon reduction programs. We combine engineering expertise with structured program management to deliver results that meet technical, regulatory, and funding requirements.
With over 20 years of Demand Side Management (DSM) program experience, we support every phase of program implementation, from design and participant engagement to implementation support and measurement and verification. Our DSM program delivery experience spans multiple provinces and sectors and includes current engagements with the IESO and FortisBC.
Delivering energy efficiency and low-carbon programs.
Program Delivery Impacts Since 2005
Aladaco supports demand-side management (DSM) program delivery across the full lifecycle, from initial design through participant engagement, technical review, project coordination, implementation, and measurement and verification.
Our team combines extensive delivery experience with engineering, energy management, and M&V expertise to help administrators implement effective, technically sound, and audit-ready programs. We work closely with program administrators to achieve performance objectives while maintaining a practical, positive experience for participants.
Our Program Delivery Services
Program Design and Development
We help program administrators develop practical, technically sound frameworks that support participation, measurable energy and carbon outcomes. Our work includes defining eligible measures, incentive structures, savings methodologies, reporting requirements, application tools, cost-effectiveness analysis, jurisdictional reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Participant Engagement and Technical Support
We help move participants from interest to implementation by supporting customer engagement, facility onboarding, opportunity screening, preliminary assessments, and technical guidance. Our approach focuses on clarifying program requirements identifying eligible opportunities, and helping participants successfully navigate the application and implementation processes.
Technical Review and Engineering Validation
Aladaco provides independent technical review to confirm that projects are reasonable, well-documented, and aligned with program requirements. Our review process validates assumptions, operating conditions, modelling approaches, and savings to support accurate, defensible project outcomes and reduce implementation risk.
Implementation Support
We support participants through project coordination, implementation tracking and ongoing communication to help maintain momentum and ensure project activities, timelines, budgets, and deliverables remain on track. Our approach includes quality assurance and quality control processes that support consistent and effective implementation.
Measurement, Reporting, and Verification
Aladaco develops clear, defensible savings documentation using engineering-based calculations and IPMVP-aligned approaches where appropriate. We establish baselines, verify savings, and prepare audit-ready reporting that supports program compliance and funding requirements.
Programs We Deliver
XLerate — Industrial Program for the IESO
Aladaco is currently delivering the XLerate program on behalf of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). This initiative targets medium and large industrial energy users with incentives and technical support to accelerate energy efficiency projects and realize measurable electricity savings.
Third Party Technical Reviews — FortisBC Custom Efficiency Program
Aladaco provides Third Party Technical Review services for FortisBC’s Custom Efficiency Program, ensuring that complex custom projects meet technical requirements, savings estimates are robust, and documentation aligns with program rules.
Retrofit Program — IESO (Former Delivery Partner from 2019 to 2024)
We previously delivered the IESO Retrofit Program for commercial spaces, industrial facilities, municipal buildings, universities, colleges, schools, Hospitals, multi-residential buildings, and agricultural facilities. This program promotes deep energy retrofits through a combination of technical support and financial incentives.
